Little Rock Club
This is the ideal opportunity for those wishing to mentor a kid!In-School Mentor/Tutor Program: "ENCOURAGER"
The Encourager programs and after-school tutoring focus on basic reading skills for elementary students. That’s because there is a great need! According to the National Assessment of Adult Literacy: two-thirds of students who cannot read proficiently by the end of the fourth grade will end up in jail or on welfare. Also, according to a survey done by the same group, 70% of all incarcerated adults cannot read at a fourth-grade level, “meaning they lack the reading skills to navigate many everyday tasks or hold down anything but lower (paying) jobs.”Youth Dinner
Ideal for Community Groups or families to serve a youth dinner on Club Night for 20-25 kids.NOTES
93% of the at-risk youth involved in STEP graduate from high school (vs. 70% through NLR High School) -
MISSION
To care for those with unplanned pregnancies. They provide a safe, clean, and confidential atmosphere where clients can receive a free medical-grade pregnancy test, free ultrasound confirmation, and evidence-based medical information on the abortion pill and first-trimester pregnancy options to help them make a fully informed decision.CARING HEARTS POINT OF CONTACT

clientserviceslr@chpregnancy.orgWHO IS BEING SERVED?
Caring Hearts sees a variety of clients, but primarily those from low-income backgrounds. Many clients have often been raised in single-parent households without a father in the home. Their ages can range from young teens to upper thirties, but primarily upper teens/early twenties. Caring Hearts sees mostly women but have started serving men in their Fatherhood Program.WHO IS THE IDEAL VOLUNTEER?
The ideal volunteer would be someone who has a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and has a heart for men and women in unexpected circumstances who may be considering abortion.WHAT SIZE GROUP CAN CARING HEARTS ACCOMMODATE?
AnyWHAT AGES CAN CARING HEARTS ACCOMMODATE?
AdultsWHAT WOULD A DAY VOLUNTEERING AT CARING HEARTS LOOK LIKE?
Volunteers at the center work as individuals as client advocates, ultrasound nurses, and Bible study mentors. There are opportunities for groups during fundraising events (we have a walk and banquet each year), and we rely on donations to keep our supplies stocked for our clients. This is often accomplished through baby showers to collect supplies. A typical day would be determined by the role in which one is volunteering. As a client advocate, you would welcome the client and discuss his/her situation. You would then perform a pregnancy test and discuss options for the pregnancy. Caring Hearts provides information about parenting, adoption, and abortion. The abortion information is an honest description of the procedures and possible complications/consequences. We also have a spiritual conversation and share Christ as the Spirit leads us. As a mentor, the volunteer meets with individual clients to complete Bible studies. Caring Hearts offers studies for pregnant clients as well as clients who have had abortions and are seeking healing. RNs are trained to perform ultrasounds for clients, and we provide them to each client as appropriate based on the baby's gestational age. Any other volunteer opportunities would involve special projects that can often be completed away from the center as they arise. -
